Dismantling & Component Recovery
Controlled dismantling to harvest, test, and grade reusable components from end-of-life equipment — extracting value at the part level before residual material is processed.
What We Do
Dismantling & Component Recovery
Units that cannot be refurbished as complete devices may still contain working components with significant remaining value. Cyclon's dismantling and component recovery service is designed to systematically extract those components — working screens, memory modules, drives, power systems, and other parts — test them against defined performance standards, and grade them for reuse. Only residual material that cannot yield further component value moves on to materials recovery.

Our Process
Routing from Intake or Refurbishment
Units routed from intake assessment or refurbishment triage are prepared for dismantling. Asset records from intake are carried forward to maintain traceability through the dismantling process.
Controlled Dismantling
Devices are dismantled in defined sequences to maximise component yield and prevent damage to recoverable parts. Battery units are removed and routed separately to battery handling.
Component Harvesting & Sorting
Harvested components are sorted by type and assessed for testing. Components with clear damage or end-of-life condition are separated and routed to materials recovery.
Component Testing & Grading
Viable components are tested against functional performance criteria and graded by condition. Testing protocols are defined per component category.
Cataloguing & Release
Tested and graded components are catalogued against the source asset record and prepared for release — either to refurbishment stock, client return, or resale channels.
