Battery Screening & Handling
Lithium-ion batteries represent the highest-risk stream within any WEEE recovery operation. Cyclon's battery screening and handling capability is designed with safety as the non-negotiable foundation — providing structured triage of battery units arriving within broader WEEE streams, dedicated storage protocols, and controlled routing toward specialist downstream processing. This capability is being built as a controlled vertical, with scope for expansion as battery recovery infrastructure in the region matures.

Our Process
Identification & Segregation at Intake
Battery-containing units are identified during intake assessment and flagged for separate handling. Battery units are segregated from general WEEE streams immediately on identification.
Safety Screening
Segregated battery units undergo visual and physical safety screening — assessing for damage, swelling, leakage, or thermal risk. Units presenting immediate safety risk are isolated and handled under specialist protocols.
Classification by Chemistry & Condition
Screened units are classified by battery chemistry (lithium-ion, lithium-polymer, NiMH, and others), form factor, capacity category, and condition grade.
Controlled Storage
Classified battery units are stored in dedicated, controlled conditions appropriate to their chemistry and risk classification — separate from general WEEE storage.
Routing to Downstream
Battery units are routed to qualified downstream processors for specialist recovery or disposal — with full transfer documentation and compliance records.
